Hello!
I am so excited to be sharing a card today with you as this month’s Guest Designer for the AAA Cards Challenge. I always look forward to AAA Cards Monthly themes, and this one truly blew my socks off:
How much fun is this??! AAA Cards is looking for CAS cards inspired by the fashions of the Oscar red carpet. AND you can be inspired by fashions worn by a male or female of any year!!
There is certainly no shortage of inspiration! Being a CAS girl, I couldn’t go past Reece Witherspoon’s 2015 Oscar dress by Tom Ford:

How I was inspired:
I felt that the dress was all about balance, so I tried to reflect that by channeling those bold black stripes and Reece’s elegant diamond earrings in a simple, formal layout. The black lines were a great way to use up some scraps. The glittery die-cut flowers were my hat-tip to Reece’s sparkly earrings. I used Paper Smooches Dainty Flowers 2 and snipped the flower heads from their stems to get the shape I wanted. The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted’s Let’s Party. I finally added a couple of rhinestones, and I was done. Uber CAS!

Hi Gerrina, thanks for your comments! I cam up with ‘Honey I Shrunk the Kit!’ after I saw the ’12 Kits of Occasions’. http://the12kitsofoccasions.blogspot.com.au/ It is a very similar concept, except the kit that we send to each other is much smaller (fits into a C6 envelope) with a focus on CAS designs.Postage is too expensive to send bigger kits, unfortunately. 🙂 Please feel free to ask me more if you are interested.:-) Hazel

Hazel, it’s just so cool how you included the two black stripes of the dress into your card-design! The sentiment also fits perfectly. And your two dazzling flowers look like the jewelries on her ears…
