CASology #194: Mom

I was quite taken with the pink creations in last week’s CASology gallery. I am always inspired by what I see, but as I am currently going through an ‘adoring pink’ phase, I really was in seventh heaven!

Mom’s the word at CASology this week, or as I would say, ‘Mum’:

With Mother’s Day looming, I couldn’t go past a basket full of flowers!

The MOM Subway Art Builders:TLC stamp set has six lovely sentiments to choose from. Given their relative sizes and proportions, I thought they might work, not only as a sentiment, but also as a ‘texture’ on a basket.  I simply cut a stencil, using the basket die from Echo Park’s Simple Picnic Basket, then filled it with stamped sentiments and sponged inks.  I then stamped an assortment of flowers from Vignette: Eclectic Florals  in bright colours, masking as I went, to give the appearance of depth. For added dimension, I die-cut the basket rim, and applied it to the top of the basket, along with one fussy-cut one yellow bloom.

How would you like to celebrate the cue this week?
