Dandelion Wishes

I am having some fun this month with Serendipity Stamps Challenge #48. The Challenge is to use your newest / never-before used things to create a card, using at least one SS item.

I recently acquired this beautiful SS dandelion stamp, and this sentiment. The plant has a real vintage quality, and I can imagine it stamped on natural linen tea-towels, napkins, etc… Anyway, before I get too carried away, here is my card:

I stamped the dandelion image twice across the base of the card, off the edges. I initially thought I would water-colour it, but I so liked the crisp detail, that I chose to leave it uncoloured, save for the daisy, which I ‘spotlit’, using a simple circle stamp.

I am linking this card to this fortnight’s TimeOut Challenge Inspired by Words: Autumn…the year’s last loveliest smile.

Here is another version of the same layout, which shows off a bit more of the intricate detail of the stamp, and is only one-layer.

Both very CAS. Which do you prefer?

  1. I love both of your cards Hazel! I especially love that one splash of color. My favorite has to be the first one – that’s one of my very favorite Serendipity Stamps verses. Thanks so much for playing in our What’s New challenge!

  2. Both are gorgeous but I prefer the first one. I like the strip of black with that gorgeous sentiment. The idea to highlight one dandelion is inspired. Thanks for joining us at TO

  3. What a sweet card! I love the focus on the single flower and that wonderful sentiment!! Thanks so much for joining the Happy Little Stampers October Sketch Challenge.

  4. I love both of these, Hazel – that spotlit flower is lovely. The first one is my favourite though. The sentiment is unique and thought provoking and is perfect white embossed on the black card.

  5. Two great cards using the same stamp. And I love the pop of colour from the spotlight flower.
    Thanks for sharing with us.
