It’s the last week of the school holidays, so I am making hay while the sun shines, and ‘singing the blues’ at MUSE with the ever effervescent Michele!
Loved this card! Those Scandinavian Flowers are now on my wish list. Thanks Michele, because that list was looking a little scant! 😉
So, here is my bluesy attempt:
And another view:
I loved Michele’s wavy grass, with the flower heads dancing in the imaginary ‘breeze’. Loved those blue hues too. I wanted to capture that feeling with my card.
So, there is a bit of a paper tole feel with my card. Before I knew what I was doing, I had fussy cut 7 flower heads, yes 7, to give my card a little more dimension. These were popped up using dimensionals. I had used a die to create the grass! I had a blue frame around my entire image. I had created layers!
Prior to that, however, I splashed a bit of blue water colour on the base card. I stamped my image on the base card, and then twice more on some scrap for use as my ‘pop up blooms’ All of these flowers were washed in pale blue tones, and three centres embellished with blackened rhinestones. I added Wink of Stella to the flowers also, although not really visible in these pictures.
Michele – thanks so much for the inspiration! It’s been a pleasure – as always.
I am linking to the following Challenges also:

Hazel!! All those fussy-cut blooms really paid off, by the way… love your grasses and the subtle water-color wash. Very, very cool … every little touch. Oh so happy this morning to see your card at Muse – always a pleasure playing cards with you …

Love your beautiful blue card. Lovely flowers and fabulous dimension.
Love the addition of the grass die – great idea.
Super LOVE this…awesome combo of challenges!
Totally gorgeous!!
I love how this is so different from the Muse and yet so clearly inspired by it! So glad you joined us at Muse this week, Hazel!
Haze, this is gorgeous and well done with all the layering!!!
Wow, Hazel, this is a real beauty! Love the layers (you’re a fussy cutting girl after my own heart!) and that subtle touch of blue in the background. Also effervescent is the perfect word for the lovely Michele. AND whenever I visit her blog I end up with a new list to add to my wish list! 🙂
Hola Hazel, what simply and beautiful card, i like the dimension of your flowers and the soft blue watercolour, very spring-like and fresh look.
A warm hug from Palma
I am speechless ! This is a winner 🙂
