I am here with another fabulous cue word from CASology this week: HOT!
Right now, the weather is hot, hot, HOT where I live! Fabulous for going down to the beach (preferably before 7am and after 6pm if you don’t want to get fried!). We live close to the beach, so heading down for a swim and a paddle has been a popular activity.
Hence, the inspiration for this week’s card:
I exercised the ‘Rule of Thirds’ when determining where the key focal points were going to be. And then I had fun.
I created the ‘sea’ first. I masked a corner of a piece of water-colour paper with washi tape, and then applied a water-colour wash to create the water. Once dried, I removed the mask and tore across the page to create the shore-line and glued it to the base card.
I then stamped and white-embossed the sentiment and remaining three images. These were coloured with Stampin’ Markers and fussy-cut, before being applied to the card, following the Rule of Thirds principles. The bucket and one of the flip flops (or ‘thongs’, as we call them) was popped up with dimensionals.
I hope you have fun with this week’s cue word, and I look forward to seeing what you create! This fabulous Neat & Tangled stamp set is up for grabs, designed and donated by our very talented teamie May Park, so you will definitely want to be in the running for that!
But before you get started, don’t forget to pay a visit to the rest of the Design Team’s blogs and our fabulous Guest Designer this week, Penny:
