Heartfelt Thanks

With Valentine’s Day approaching, I felt like getting in on the act and making a card with a heart on it. I also felt like using shades of pink. My husband took one look at this card and said, “Thanks? That card says a lot more than ‘thanks'”.  Precisely! What do you think?

This card was relatively easy to make.

Flowers were stamped in Versa-Mark onto vellum and then heat-embossed in white. I coloured the underside of each flower with alcohol markers before punching them out with a corresponding punch.

The sentiment was stamped in black, and then re-stamped in Versamark and heat-embossed with transparent embossing powder to increase its shine.

I lightly drew a heart shape onto my cardstock with pencil to serve as a guideline for flower placement, and then went about gluing each flower down.

That was it!

This card has been inspired by the following Challenges:

Virginia’s View-Challenge 11: Clean Slate. I love CAS designs, and with the exception of the pops of colour behind the flowers, this card has a lot of white space.

CS Take It Make It: Take A Stamp Challenge. I have taken a stamp (well, two actually) and created something!

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Something New. New stash for me! I bought some new Sharpies , and used them to colour the flowers. Do Sharpies qualify as ‘stash’? You tell me…

Gorgeous Darnell’s NBUS Challenge #3: Anything Goes. My aforementioned Sharpies are technically ‘new’ and hadn’t been used on a project, so I feel that they must qualify as ‘schtuff’ (wink!).
