Falling leaves

Hello everyone!

Just a quick post today. I was very spoilt by a special person who sent me this beautiful die in the mail, and I was keen to press it into action immediately!

The leaves are stamped onto the cardstock in versa-mark, then heat-embossed in white, before water-colouring in shades of green and a touch of yellow.

To give the ‘thanks’ sentiment more definition, I die-cut it twice – in gold and black, respectively, and offset the black underneath to create a ‘shadow’. A thin green strip of cardstock was added near the base of this one-layer card.

I was inspired by:

AAA Cards Challenge: Use a Little Gold. Took that quite literally!

Less is More: Colour Challenge – Black + Gold + One. Die cut my sentiment in black and gold, and used one leaf stamp!

That’s it!

Thanks for visiting!

Materials used:

Cardstock: Very Vanilla; Basic Black; Old Olive (Stampin’ Up!) Gold card (my stash)

Die: Thanks (Clearly Besotted)

Stamp: Peaceful Petals (Stampin’ Up!)

Ink: Versa-Mark; White Embossing Powder (Stampin’ Up!)

Watercolours: Cadmium yellow pale hue 119; Sap Green 599; Viridian hue 696 (Cotman)

  4. How lucky are you!!! Nothing like getting craft goodies in the mail, especially when your not expecting them! Such pretty leaves and love the different shades of green. I don’t have a thanks die and have just spotted one from Paper Smooches for a good price in NZ, so might have to do some sneaky shopping…….

  5. Love your card. Much soothing colors for this already-tired-of-winter gal. Tahnks for playing with AAA.
