‘Tis the Season

Uniko Studio Challenge – Anything Goes and the Sketch:

USC01

My take:

image

Cardstock: Very Vanilla (SU). Stamp: Jolly Christmas (Uniko Studio). Ink: Tuxedo Black; Cherry Cobbler; Baked Brown Sugar (SU); Embossing powders: Clear; Cherry Cobbler (SU). Other: Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Marker; Basic Pearl; Gold Twine (SU); Wink of Stella (Zig)

CASology’s cue word inspired me to attempt a ‘Vintage’ feel with this card. I hope that is reflected in my choice of colours and embellishments.

I love this little stamp set from Uniko Studio, hence I am entering this card into Bev’s Uniko Studio Challenge! I used her sketch as the basis for my layout. I love the stamp set’s tiny sentiments too, and enjoyed using the ‘fa la la’ sentiment to create the background and filling for Santa’s hat.

The edges of the base and layer card have been distressed in brown ink to add dimension and reinforce the ‘aged’ feeling. I hope it complies with Virginia’s interpretation of ‘distressed’ 🙂

As usual, I have tried to keep it CAS. Whilst it doesn’t show up in the photo, Santa’s trim has been Wink of Stella’d, and his boots and belt clear embossed to make them shiny black. The ‘fa la la’ in the hat has been heat embossed in Cherry Cobbler.

That’s it! Thanks for visiting!
