Growing older

Yay!! CASology Challenge time again, and the cue word is ‘Garden’.

Week 92 - Garden

This made me think of sunflowers, and growing tall and strong (watching my young boys stretching skyward daily). I was inspired to go graphic.

Growing older

I coloured selected parts of the sentiment stamp ‘Another Year Older’ with a Stampin’ Write  to construct  my three flower stems. I then hand drew the remaining parts of the stem with the same marker and a ruler. The leaves are made from a tiny punched-out heart, cut in half.

I liked Ardyth’s idea of using those little ‘extra’ stamps you get in stamp sets, and found the perfect little forgotten flower head in a retired, but well-loved Stampin’ Up! Simply Sent kit called ‘Three Thoughts’. Time to shine, little stamp!

Three candy dot centres, some grass, and we are done!

  1. Wow, perfect take on Garden. Love the way you drew the stems. Using a heart punch to crate those tiny leaves are clever!!! Thanks so much for playing with us at CASology.

  2. Those stems are so fabulous, Hazel … such a pretty card … and so gloriously graphic! Thanks so much for calling by my blog … and for leaving me such a sweet comment … it’s much appreciated and it meant I could come here for a meander around too! Anita 🙂
