Good luck

Week 88 - Lucky

This week’s cue card is ‘Lucky’, which is exactly how I am feeling after receiving an Honourable Mention from CASology for my Blush entry. Super honoured!

This week, I have opted for a monochrome colour scheme, but really wanted to incorporate a grassy green to support my little image and sentiment. I chose Old Olive ink and cardstock to meet this objective.

Good luck

The upstroke of the ‘d’ in the’ Good Luck’ sentiment seemed to lend itself to being populated with clover leaves, so naturally, four were punched using the heart from my Owl punch. The leaves were sponged and bifurcated using Old Olive ink and a Stampin’ Write marker, to add a bit of dimension.

Given that Old Olive is hardly a ‘pop’ colour against a Crumb Cake background, I added some white highlighting. This helped illuminate the clover.

Good luck -close up

I faux-stitched the crumb cake background to my heavyweight white cardstock using my chalk marker, and added a sliver of white card beneath the word ‘luck’ (just for luck!)

And that’s it!

Thanks for visiting!

  1. This is a fabulous card–truly CAS. Putting making that clover and placing it just so is inspired, and the pop of white is just what you needed to set it off a bit. Great job. Thanks so much for playing along at CASology this week.

  2. Hazel, another CAS beauty this week! I love the way the clover stem shares the “d,” and the white highlights and stitching are fabulous! Thanks for playing along at CASology this week!
